Why are we putting up with this shit?

Why are we putting up with this shit? What is the shit I speak of?....... Are you sitting comfortably?, then I will begin.

Cut backs, rising petrol prices, mass unemployment and greedy bastard bankers are causing the average hardworking man and woman many sleepless nights. All over Europe and the United States, many people have felt the uncomfortable stabbing of  the governments knee jerk reaction to the 'credit crunch'.

Governments are in a state of obscene panic, slashing public spending and increasing taxes. The economies of many big nations aren't moving forward, with people too afraid to spend what money they have. I am no economist but i can't understand how any government can take money off people, take more off the workers in taxes and expect money to go back into into the economy. You can't spend what you dont have.....Hold on, isn't that what got us into this mess in the first place? Where is all the big talk by the governments: 'We will make the banks give loans to help small business owners'. The banks wouldn't let you smell their farts, they are that greedy. Banks in the U.K will share out over 13 billion pounds in bonuses this year. According to www.myfinances.co.uk the financial sector employs just four per cent of UK workers but it pays out 40 per cent of the total bonuses paid to UK employees. Would anyone disagree with me if I said this is fucking disgusting? What do these slimey bastard bankers contribute to the good of mankind? Nurses do a difficult job everyday and get paid peanuts, while bankers treat the world like a giant casino. The governments need tax the banks more and slap these thieves back into line. A great idea is that of the Robin Hood Tax. Run your peepers over this Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/robinhoodtax

B.P, have also posted profits of 5.3 Billion dollars. So why is it every week the price of petrol is slowly creeping up? Does B.P think we are all half wits and we don't notice? Of course we notice!! How can you make such a gross amount of money but still increase your prices? How can the governments let this happen? Maybe it is because they don't give a fuck.

Another shady group who are only interested in causing havoc in Europe are the ruthless credit reference agencies; Moodys and Standard & Poors. These vultures are only intrested in hurting economies and have hidden motives for their ratings of countries debts. They couldn't wait to publicly state that the recent package of help measures given to Greece would constitute a default. Why do governments tolerate these bastards causing touble and upsetting the finacial markets? I am seeing a pattern emerge...The governments are cowards and don't have the mettle to tell these snakes where to go (to fuck), but we all knew this anyway.

I suppose it was only a matter of time before greed engulfed the world. The working man is paying the price for the greed of the banks, while the governments fumble thier way through fixing the current economic crisis. I can't see an end to it anytime soon and I reckon it will get worse before it gets better. Banks don't want to lend money because they are assholes and governments want to squeeze every penny out of the people. People are losing their jobs while the rich get richer. Why is this continuing to happen? Why are we putting up with this shit?

The enemy of football

The football season has finished and left a painful hole in the viewing souls of all football supporters. Now we can see the various pre-season matches of our favourite teams, football still, but not the adrenaline inducing games we see during the season.

Last season seen some great football full of magical skills, last gasp defending and wonder goals. Like everything in life there cant be one without the other. The other I am talking about is cheating. Call it gamesmanship, call it simulation call it what the hell you like, but the truth is the truth-cheating is cheating and it is rife in the modern game. Every team cheats, some more than others but none more than Barcelona.

The great Barcelona, unbeatable and at times breath taking to watch. Very charitable with their sponsorship of Unincef, a club which people should admire.......No fucking way.

A great club who cheat and complain their way through matches. A club deep in debt, a club with players who have no idea of respect and a club with an apparent rascist playing for them. Doesn't sound like a club you should pay any attention to, does it? Many many people will argue with me and say every club cheats and every club has players who are without respect. Look at the big clubs in the premier league, they are up to their eyeballs in debt. Many people dont have a fucking clue about Barcelona, they see their awe inspiring displays of football on T.V and in an instant, fall in love with Barcelona.

Get a grip please. This is a club who cheat their way through games. Everyone remembers the Champions League semi final with Real Madrid and Barcelona. Dani Alves was disgusting with his shameless acting, as was Pedro the tomato farmer and Busquets the fairy. I would love to see what would happen if these 'men' were punched by another man......I reckon they would self implode and melt into a pile of steaming hot shite.

Xavi, now here is the chief wanker. A man who likes to talk crap and doesn't have the most miniscule speck of respect for other clubs. Recently he has been poking his little frog face into the never ending saga of 'will fabregas or won't fabregas join Barcelona'. I wonder if his ass is jealous of the shite which leaves his mouth.

It is apparent I dont like the Barcelona team or most of their players, and i should be careful as not to seem like a bitter twisted ranting half-wit, but i just can't stand what I see and read. The Real Madrid coach, Mourhinio, was 100% correct when he commented on Barcelona's 'special' relationship with UEFA and that fucker Platini. They get away with murder and no one says anything.

UEFA have stated that clubs will need to be making money and not borrowing if they want to compete in Eurpoean matches. Interesting this. Barcelona had to ask the bank for 150 million Euros to pay their players!! Will Platini stand firm with his remarks or will Barcelona find a way to slime thier way out it? Imagine a Champions League without Barcelona, free of diving, cheating and racist taunts.

During the match with Real Madrid, Busquets was caught mouthing the words 'mono, mono' to Marcello. He covered his mouth while doing it....Doesn't that seem more than a little guilty? If it wasn't anything nasty why did he cover is mouth? After an 'investigation' by UEFA, the racist bastard got off. Im not suprised really.

Something more sinister and ugly is the politics which Barcelona bring into football. Barcelona is in the community of Cataluña, which is in the counrty of Spain. Barcelona see themselves as Catalan and not Spanish. I suppose that is their right but regardless of how they see themselves, they are still an important part of Spain. When they won the Champions league there wasn't one single Spanish flag on show from the Barcelona team. The players who are Spainish should be ashamed. Afraid to celebrate the victory for your country because certain Catalan elements don't seem themselves as Spanish. Wouldn't want to offend them, would you? It was a tremendous victory for Spanish football, not only Cataluña.

Barcelona play great football and they gave Man Utd an awful hiding during the Champions League final, but their antics on and off the field only serve for the negative comments I am directing at this team of unsporting cheats.

Now with my rant over I want to leave on a lighter note. A certain Man Utd player spent a shit load of money trying to remain invisible in the media about his extra marital affair......during the Champions League final he was invisible all night and it cost him nothing.

It has been a while!!

It has been nearly one year since i last spilled my thoughts onto these pages..... Much has happened all over my world and the world in general in this year. In Japan there was a disaster that made Bible wrath look like a child's birthday party. Mass protests and demonstrations broke out in Northern Africa which lead to some of the worlds most hated tyrants being disposed. Good enough for the bastards. Now all we need is for Gaddafi to fuck off for good.

This bastard economic crisis deepened, with Ireland and Portugal joining the embarrassing club which Greece founded - the we are fucked and nearly bankrupt club. The very word 'crisis' strikes fear into everyone. The poor are being forced further into the chasm of poverty while the rich are secretly shitting their silk undergarments through fear of losing a 'few thousand'. The economic vultures are turning their attentions to Spain and Italy.....Why don't these vampires turn their attention to those who caused this nightmare in the first place, the fucking wanker bankers.

America finally got their man...Osama Bin Laden. The special forces swooped on Bin Laden's compound in Pakistan and showed him as much mercy as a hungry fat child shows a doughnut...absolutely none. Reports afterwards said Bin Laden had a stash of pornography. I wonder, maybe 'playgoat' magazines? Bin Laden will have a bit of explaining to do when he reaches paradise and he his asked by all the other suicide bombers 'Where are all these fucking virgins you promised us?'. All joking aside what goes around comes around.

In my world, I finished my first year teaching young Spaniards the joys of the English language! It was an amazing experience which i enjoyed so much. I met some fantastic people in my classroom, people who I hope to teach next year (Tuesday & Thursday 8.15 - 9.45). This class in particular was amazing. A class i will never forget as long as I am a slave to the English language. As a teacher i reckon you get only one class like this in your whole teaching lifetime.

The road of work was not always smooth and enjoyable. I had to suffer the ignorance and laziness of certain individuals who tried to make my life difficult. The same people have more faces than a dice and a nasty taste for telling lies about you. In the end I really believe the Cosmos will dispense Karma to these clowns sooner rather than later.

I hope to be sharing more of my scat in a more frequent manner. Until then i leave you with the immortal words of Homer Simpson: 'You don't make friends with salad'

Rep of Ireland: Are they falling into the footballing abyss?

The 3rd of September saw the beginning of the start of the qualifying for the European championships. Football of course! As expected, the usual super powers won, the minnows lost and the rest battle it out for the mystical '3 points'.

Rep of Ireland are hardly juggernauts of European football, but as a small nation, Rep of Ireland have always done well and gave a decent account of themselves no matter who they played. The Irish team are not blessed with players with magical powers such as Messi, Rooney or Kaka but they still manage to do resonably well. Who could forget how the Irish were robbed of a World Cup place by Henry and his filthy cheating hand. In those two games against France, the Irish were fantastic and would have been at the World Cup if it wasnt for Henry but mostly if it wasn't for their fear infront of goal. A point shared with me by a true great Irish footballer, Roy Keane. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aI0PC2NhwGc

Being an Irishman and a fan of the national team, I sat uncomfortably for 90 minutes watching the Irish display against Armenia. It was the usual story for Robbie Keane. I don´t know why he wears the captains armband. He is a terrible finisher, and shites his pants everytime he gets a sniff of goal. Ireland´s greatest goal scorer needs 3 nets to have a chance to score. Kevin Kilbane was terrible at left back. I have seen paint dry quicker than he runs. Many of the chances Armenia created were down the Irish left hand side. Could the manager not see that Mc Geady couldn´t offer protection to the creaking hips of Kilbane? The center midfield paring of Green and Whelan were dire. Whelan on many occasions looked like a can-can dancer when going in for the tackle. As for Green, you could count on one hand the number of times his name was mentioned during the game. The usual defense minded ugly play by Trappatoni. Why were Green and Whelan just sitting infront of the defenders? With the greatest respect to the Armenian Forwards, I dont think Richard Dunne or Shay Given need protecting.....or did they?

Armenia could have very easily won this game. They had 3 clear cut chances. Luckily for Rep of Ireland they didnt take them. At the other end the same old story with Robbie Keane. Through on goal, only the keeper to beat......Hits the post or drags it wide. At this level it isn´t good enough and he should be dropped. His club have dropped him and want to off load him. Is it because he doesn´t scores goals? People may think i am being a little harsh. Yes i am, but watching such terrible displays is painful. It seems to be the same story with Rep of Ireland, ugly route one football, no creativity and a sicking lack of goal scoring ability.

I personally feel it is time for the manager to go. He is the one choosing the team. He is sending out the wrong players. It is only my opinion, and i am not a football manager by any strech of the imagination. When Fahey came on and scored the solitary winning goal, it wasn´t any kind of tactical genius by Trappatoni, it was luck. Fahey done what was expected of him (Take note Robbie Keane) and scored. He was in the right place at the right time and succedeed in what any other player in that situation should do, put the ball in the back of the net.

On the bench, again, was Manchester United midfielder Darron Gibson. A fantastic up and comming player. Darron owns an almighty shot and a beautiful pass. Why not start the boy or bring him on. His shooting would be an advantage as would his passing.

I suppose not all players were as bad as Keane, Whelan, Green and Kilbane. Mc Geady looked dangerous as did Lawrence. St Ledger, Dunne and O´Shea all played fairly well. Given did what he had to when called upon. Rep of Ireland dont have the quality of players like Brazil or England and it seems they dont have a quality manager. Trappatoni was good in his day, but at 71 I think his day has passed. I would love to see Martin O´Neill as the new manager some time soon.

Maybe as a footballing force, Rep of Ireland have been the great 'over achievers' and sadly their number is up. Maybe it is the stone cold fact that Rep of Ireland dont have any good players. People will say 'A win is a win' and i agree totally. I am glad that Rep of Ireland have started with a win and 3 points because it could have been very easily the other way around. You need to look at the whole picture. Russia and Slovakia are in the group and if Rep of Ireland play as bad as they did yesterday, they will get smashed by Russia and devoured by Slovakia. That will not be 3 points, but minus 12 points. A win is a win, even by the most narrow of margins, but 4 defeats means staying at home in 2012, again.

Things need to change in the Irish squad. Certain big names need to be left out and those who are nearly ready to get their bus pass left out all together. I heard an intresting quote on Spanish TV by David Villa on the departure of Ibrahimovic. He said that Barcelona was Messi´s team. If you dont fit to Messi´s way of playing you dont fit into the team. Could this be the same idea Trappatoni has at Rep of Ireland. I dread to think who´s team he thinks it is, afterall the captain´s armband is worn by........Robbie Keane.

Considering the display and the players that played against Armenia, an old saying sprung to mind: 'You can´t make a good kinfe out of bad steel'

I would also like to extend my congratulations to Belarus, who beat France 1-0 in Paris. ;)

The Ground Zero Mosque. Sick Joke or Good Idea?

On September 11th, 2001, The most despicable terrorist attack happened in U.S.A. Muslim extremists flew passenger aircraft into the World Trade Centre in downtown Manhattan in New York. These cowards also flew aircraft into the hub of the American military, the Pentagon and a plane crashed into a field in Pennsylvania after a brave attempt to regain control of the plane by the passengers. 2995 people lost their lives as a direct cause of these extremist pigs.

Im sure everyone who was old enought to have seen these events unfold on T.V, could tell you exactly where and what they were doing on this day. It was a dark day for humanity, although those who commited this act do not deserve to be classified as human.

So enough of the history lesson and more on what i find astonishing. Someone has come up with the clever idea to build a mosque right beside the site where the planes destroyed the World Trade Centres. Why not build one in Madrid train station, or in a nightclub in Bali or even on the London Underground network. What can anyone possibly achieve from building a mosque ANYWHERE near Ground Zero? The only achievement i see is a victory for filthy Islamic extremists which will help create a 'tourist attraction' mosque. Let me remind everyone that ALL forms of terrorism is filthy, not just Islamic terrorism. I grew up in the North of Ireland so i have some experience of the sickening reality of terrorism.

So why has this been given the go ahead? I cant understand why a mosque would be built in such a hallowed place. It is a slap in the face of all those who were murdered, a savage disrespect to all those who gave their lives trying to save others and a totally insensitive and crass idea. The notion should never have been given the time of day. What i dont understand is why the mosque could not have been built somewhere else? Why is it so important for these poeple to build a mosque on this place?

Lets look at what some prominent Americans have said. Who no better to begin with other than Barack Obama, President of the U.S.A. Mr Obama has been quoted as saying: "We must all recognise and respect the sensitivities surrounding the development of lower Manhattan, Ground Zero is, indeed, hallowed ground". Very true words, respect and sensitivities. Where is the respect for those murdered and those who died trying to save others? Where is the sensitivity in building a mosque near ground zero? He goes on to endorse the idea: "That includes the right to build a place of worship and a community centre on private property in lower Manhattan, in accordance with local laws and ordinances" Personally i think the right to build a mosque near Ground Zero was extinguished on 9/11/2001. How could a president be so out of touch?

Others who endorse this are Daisy Khan, the executive director of the American Society for Muslim Advancement. She states "We need to take the 9/11 tragedy and turn it into something very positive". Im sorry Daisy, but building a mosque near Ground Zero will not create anything positive, quite the contrary. That is only my opinion, i am sure many will disagree with me.

A very intresting statement by the Iman of the proposed mosque, Iman Feisel Abdul Rauf, weeks after the attacks : "I wouldn't say that the United States deserved what happened but United States policies were an accessory to the crime that happened." Anti American sentiment? Is this the man people want incharge of a mosque near ground zero? This statement was made to the popular show '60 minutes'.

If muslims want to change the perception of themselves in America, maybe they should reach out to the families of the victims and not rub shit in their faces by building a mosque near ground zero. Personally i dont have a problem with Islam or any other religion, but i think building a mosque near Ground Zero is wrong. Why not build it some place else? I think some people have lost track of what is right and wrong. People should be free to practise their religion in the appropriate building, but seriously, building a mosque near Ground Zero should never have been considered.

Idiots, Brainless Bastard Idiots.

Recently in Derry City, a wretched cancer reared its ugly face once again. Many will know what i am talking about, but for those who don't I will explain to you very clearly what this cancer is.

The age old problem of terrorism has blighted and ravaged the North of Ireland for decades. A long time ago, terrorisim had support from some sections of each community. Over time this support has wained, as has the desire for peace and a normal life grown. The near majority of normal people in the North of Ireland, Protestant and Catholic, want to see peace prosper and the new generation of children grow up to lead lives free of prejudice or biogotry.

So why do some bastards want to wreck everything that has been acheived and drag the North back into the abyss. People need to remember, when you are staring into the abyss, the abyss is staring back at you.

So in Derry a group of so called 'dissident republicans' made a taxi man drive a bomb to a police station. How brave are these 'dissident republicans'!!! Making a man who was out trying to earn a living, drive a bomb in his car. Telling him they will 'shoot' him if he didn't. Destroying the thing he uses to make money to put food on the table - his car. These 'dissident republicans' are nothing but dirty cowardly criminals.

Why do these pathetic weasels destroy the city they grew up in? In a city crippled by unemployment, these brainless idiots will only serve to worsen the unemployment crisis and plunge the city into the shit-hole. What companies will want to come and invest in Derry? Ones who have bomb proof buildings i supppose. These bastards are not representative of anyone Irish nor is their brand of out dated republicanism welcomed by anyone. Furthermore they are not Irish, they are just common criminals.

A munber of things which made me laugh were certain elected members of parliment statements. Mr Mc Guinness said the bombers were an 'embarrasment'. The only thing embarrasing here is your lack of a strongly worded condemnation Martin. Mr Mc Guinness goes on to say "If they think they will destroy the political institutions the people of Ireland voted for, if they think they're going to destroy the working relationship I have with Peter Robinson, if they think they will undermine the peace process they are living in cloud cuckoo land." Indeed Martin, the people of Ireland not the people of Derry U.K capital of culture 2013? Let's not forget his 'special relationship' with Peter Robinson. I really don't think your 'special relationship' with Peter Robinson has anything to do with the bombing Martin. The police station was bombed for other reasons, none of which are valid or deserve a mention on my blog. Another questionable comment by Colum Eastwood, Mayor of Derry City U.K capital of culture 2013: "If you love your country you shouldn't try and destroy it" Remind me exactly which country that is, Your Most High Lord Mayor? Ireland or U.K, as in Derry/Londonderry U.K capital of culture 2013? Maybe the organisers will take the city of culture 2013 award away! Oh the hypocrisy!!

These 'dissident republicans' need to take a step back and see that they have no support. Their actions are creating nothing but shame and fear for the good people of Derry/Londonderry. They are living in a defunct period of time which has had it's 15 miuntes of fame, a fame which is long gone. People want peace, people need jobs and Derry/Londonderry needs to flourish into the great city it can be. Remove the 'dissident republicans' and the self serving politicians and we might just get somewhere.

Derry, U.K capital of culture 2013. Great Hypocrisy or Silver Bullet?

So folks the first U.K capital of culture has been choosen............"And the winner is............DERRY/LONDONDERRY!!" What a great and momentous achievement for those involved and especially for the city. Indeed the city has done a fantastic job to beat the likes of Birmingham, Sheffield and Norwich to claim this title, but is there a great hypocrisy involved in all this or will it be the fabled 'silver bullet' which will drag Derry/Londonderry out of the shit?

The latest Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment (DETI) figures show a total of 4,980 people, or 7.2% of the working age population dont have a job. The Derry City Council area is on the the most deprived in the U.K. Combine this with the current econmical crisis and recent disgusting rioting and it doesnt create a pretty pictute, does it?

But people wait!!!! The saving grace of Derry/Londonderry has arrived!!! Th U.K city of culture 2013 has been awarded to Derry/Londonderry!! All the problems will vanish in clouds of happiness and rays of golden sunshine. People will have to forgive me if i am not riding the wave of the recent victory, but i am just not convinced this is going to solve all of Derry/Londonderry's problems. You will also have to forgive me if i say the whole episode stinks of hypocrisy.

Having grown up in Derry/Londonderry i am well aware of the historical significance of certain words and phrases and to which 'nation' certain people claim to belong to. Many people i went to school with were of the opinion that the 'occupied six counties' (Northern Ireland) belonged to Ireland. Other People i knew would say that 'Norn Iron' was part of Great Britain. Norn Iron is indeed part of Great Britain. Money which pays for schools, roads, hospitials and so forth comes from the Queen's coffers. In the eyes of the international community Norn Iron is part of Great Britain

Picture the scenario: A young Catholic man and a young Protestant man. I ask both of them 'Is Derry/Londonderry in Ireland and are you Irish?' Young Catholic man would probably answer 'Yes it is and yes i am'. Young Protestant man would answer 'No it is not and no i am not' Historically Catholics have seen themselves as Irish. They would sing the "Amhrán na bhFiann" and support the Rep of Ireland in football. Protestants are more likley to follow Northern Ireland and sing 'God save the Queen' when asked to recite their national anthem. So i can say that many people in Derry/Londonderry would see themselves as Irish, who wouldn't dare sing 'God save the Queen' and probably carry an Irish passport. There is nothing wrong with saying you are 'British' or being part of the U.K. We need more tolerance and respect for each other in Northern Ireland.

When Derry/Londerry was announced as the winner of U.K capital city of culture 2013, well didn't everyone forget where they were from and which anthem they sung!! Hypocrites. Certain people involved in the bid don't swear an oath of alleigence to the Queen of England in the British parliment. Why is that? Its ok to take the money with the Queens head on it but its not ok to say you are British. Hypocrites. Other people involved in the bid have blogs which talk the fancy talk about a 'United Ireland'. Hypocrites. Now everyone is dancing in Gulidhall square because Derry/Londonderry is UK capital of culture 2013. A month before the same people were in Gulidhall square to hear the findings of the Bloody Sunday report. I bet they were not British on that day.

People reading this will have to understand i am not trying to 'slag anyone off' or put a downer on the marvellous victory for the city, i am just calling it how i see it.

People seem to think this will solve all of Derry/Londonderrys problems, but it wont. It will only create more i reckon. There is NO government funding for this. Having grown up in Derry/Londonderry i know that Derry City Council would struggle to host a orgy in a whorehouse. The members of local government are always fighting among themselves. Its funny when you hear people say things like 'Derry/Londonderry could hold the Brits'. (Brits being the Brit Music Awards) Didn't certain elements spend most of their adult lives trying to get the Brits out of Derry? Oh the irony!! Numbers and statements being banded about: 'It will create 3000 new jobs in the city'. 'We will build a big arena'. Jobs doing what? Building the big arena? Derry needs 3000 sustainable jobs, not just jobs to build a big arena to host the Brit Awards. Remeber the Kevin Costner Film 'Field of Dreams'. Remember the line 'If you build it they will come'. Yeah right. It will boost tourism and hotel bookings but sadly i reckon that will be all. What then in 2014? I suppose at this current time, any boost is a good boost.

Funny when you see pages on Facebook with the titles: 'Derry being city of culture 2013' or 'Derry City of culture 2013'. Apart from the blatant grammatical errors in both, is there not two letters missing from each title....U.K? Even funnier when you see people on these pages arguing what the name of the city is: 'Derry'...'No! Londonderry'. The fighting has begun already. You need to bear in mind these two groups have a combined following of 1806 people, hardly representative of the city as a whole. The video for the bid was called 'Voices' and can be seen on Youtube. A excellent video with a few errors. The begining of the video shows a girl in Grianan Aileach. This is in the Rep of Ireland not in the U.K. Also were are the references to Irish dancing and G.A.A?? They are an important part of the culture of Derry/Londonderry, but not British enough to appear in the video made to appease the judges. Hypocrites.

I am very proud the city has won such an event, as it is a major coup. A little part of me feels it may have been a poision chalice due to the current economic crisis and the fact there will be no British Government funding. Derry/Londonderry will need to attract investment and sponsorship, but this will be difficult due to television pictures of recent rioting and the current ecomonic climate. I wish them the best of luck. It is fantastic for the city, but i am not buying into the the whole mass hysteria. I might sound like a 'nay-sayer', but im just giving my opinion.
